My solo show “Touch” opens on October 5th at the Art Dept! It’s an immersive, interactive art installation, where intimacy and violence exist side by side that contributes to conversations brought up by the #metoo movement. And it requires a lot of materials. A LOT.
I’m having a supply drive and lunch at my house on Saturday, September 22nd from 4-9pm. I am looking for the following materials, monetary donations (Indiegogo campaign to come), and volunteers to help out during the install: Thursday, September 27th - Friday, October 5th.
I need a lot of:
PANTYHOSE/NYLONS/TIGHTS (whatever color, doesn't matter if they have holes)
HARDWARE (Nails, bolts, scrap metal, screws, door knobs, anything you've got - rusty/not rusty, usable/unusable. Also, I will take metal things.)
A LOVE SEAT (preferable red velvet, but I'll take whatever)
SHEETS OF DRYWALL
I also need:
RED HOUSE PAINT
PAINT BRUSHES/ROLLERS (FOR HOUSE PAINT)
A TV (preferably an older tube tv, but I’ll take whatever you have that works.)
SPEAKERS THAT COULD CONNECT TO A TV
LAMP MAKING SUPPLIES - SOCKETS, PLUGS, LAMP WIRE
To sign up to volunteer, go here. Tom, the carpenter, and I will need help carrying things, an extra set of hands, cars for picking things up/dropping them off, and extra brains for problem-solving.
